Ireland, through the HSE and eHealth Ireland, is embarking on one of Europe’s most dynamic national healthcare digital transformation programmes which includes a €875m national EHR strategy, a national laboratory information system and a national maternity and newborn system.

The union between AbedGraham, Europe’s leading exclusively clinically based health IT consultancy, and Triangle Computer Services, a national IT infrastructure provider, has created Triangle Health, Ireland’s first clinically led enterprise IT consultancy. Triangle Health will provide strategic advisory services for a range of stakeholders including healthcare providers, IT suppliers and government agencies.

Triangle Health has appointed AbedGraham’s Founding Partner, Dr Saif Abed, as its Medical Director.

“Ireland is going through a transformation which will serve as a gold standard for national IT programmes. There has already been significant investment in clinical engagement and I look forward to being part of an organisation that continues to underscore the strategic importance of this,” comments Dr Abed.

“The HSE’s e-Health strategy recognises the importance of technology in improving care delivery,” said Aidan Coyne, Principal at Triangle Health. “We are dedicated to the future of eHealth in Ireland. This partnership with AbedGraham and the appointment of Dr Saif Abed to our team demonstrates our commitment and we are looking forward to working with them in helping the healthcare sector generate efficiencies through the use of technology-enabled solutions.”
