Canisius Wilhelmina Ziekenhuis (CWZ)

CWZ is one of the 27 top clinical teaching hospitals in the Netherlands. Our hospital encompasses 28 medical specialties along with an emergency department and an ICU. Approximately 4,000 employees and numerous volunteers provide personalized care to patients on a daily basis.

As the number of patients increases and our lifestyles contribute to health issues, healthcare costs rise and finding skilled colleagues becomes increasingly challenging. These challenges call for a different approach, requiring sustainable solutions. The future of healthcare and hospitals will look significantly different from what they are now.

One of our ambitions is to provide valuable and meaningful care. Digital healthcare will play a pivotal role in achieving this goal. CWZ aims to deliver the right care at the right place, meeting patients' needs wherever and whenever they require it—be it at home, on the go, or within CWZ. Care accessible everywhere, personalized, and close by.

COVID has taught us that remote care—via phone, video calls, or apps—can still offer proximity. In fact, the support is even more intensive, enabling patients and healthcare providers to address issues promptly, reducing instances of acute care situations. It's also beneficial that patients no longer always have to travel to the hospital, and their loved ones are more involved in the treatment.

CWZ stands as one of the frontrunners in the field of telemonitoring.
